    Hi guys,

Went and looked at a '67 CJ5 V6 today that the owner is selling as a parts rig. It runs and drives, but doesn't have any paperwork or VIN plate. Mechanically it's stock with a 225 with headers, 3 speed, D18 with a Warn OD, and 4.88 gears. The body is in ok shape. It has some rust and dings here and there; not too trashed. There's a Warn M8074 winch on the front (not an M8274) that might need a new motor among other attention. The frame has had some repairs on it here and there. It also has a manual Saginaw steering conversion in place. What do you think a fair price for a rig like this would be for use as a parts Jeep?

Figuring V6,(parts if not currently running) Warn 8074 (motors are cheap to rebuild or replace),and overdrive (same as the first two) all pro's, plus any other parts that are salvageable to sell, I'd say $700-$1200. I got burned on a CJ that didn't have a usable title, so I won't pay more than half its' salvage value. YMMV Good luck!

Parts Jeep . no title . 67 . offer 600 for it . california prices might be higher . but then again your the one looking at it .
    engine / OD/ 4.88 (y)
the one thing I really wouldn't want is the transmission . most likely a T86 . did the shifter have a crook at top

Pictures help a lot but somewhere about $500 to start. If a T14, it is a 10 spline overdrive that only fits a T14 so has little value.

Yeah, the transmission shifter did have a crook in it toward the top. I took it for a drive and the V6 seems to run pretty well, but needs some minor attention. The OD was a little stiff to shift, but it did shift and did not grind at all. Thanks for the tips guys. I'll shoot him an offer and see what happens.

Well, I offered $600 and he said he needs to get $1800 for it. No worries. I'll keep an eye out for something else.

No title or vin tag? So how does the seller prove they actually own it? 600 bucks is a fair price for something of dubious origin. 1800? Don't care if it runs, especially in California with all the back taxes if not listed as non-op or whatever.
