So I went with full gloss for ease in washing and rinsing. Will be on the beach a-lot and I found the salt and sand wash off easily with high glass paint. The down side is it shows every imperfection!

I figured a new parts washer was a good investment. I was thinking mineral spirits?

Quick ?, what is the brand of the hubs you have? These were the same ones on the '67 Jeepster I learned to drive on. Still remember having to chip off ice/heat gun to get those small screw disks turned with that piece of bent steel they called a "tool"

I've used water-based cleaner in my parts washer and after a few months of use it's no good and instead of buying $40 of degreaser to fill it back up I got some diesel fuel from work and have been using it instead. If I had the money Stoddard solvent would be my choice.

Take that wedding ring off. No use in ruining it or messing a finger up. Get some silicone ones.

Nice Jeep project and garage. Always more fun when working in such a clean environment.

    Major change in plans....

So I picked up this 65' CJ6 and did a quick fix, Raptor-Line and single stage paint job.

It has the 134 Hurricane engine and although it will go anywhere slow, it lacks whats needed on the very soft sand. So I picked up this 67' CJ5 from a guy up north because it had a complete and I mean untouched Dauntless V6 with basically no miles.

This jeep was loved by someone before it ended up in a field or something for a VERY long time. It didn't take much to start up and idle on its on! So with the CJ6 sold now, Ive decided to put the Dauntless in this project. It will take cutting off the motor towers and battery box and welding on V6 towers. I will also have to change the brake lines up front but it will be worth it. More to come.

Took the axles and front brake lines back off and flipped the frame over to grind and remove the hot rivets.

I very carefully cut the battery box to frame welds so someone else could use these motor towers for their project.

I spent a lot of time sandblasting, priming and painting these........oh well its worth it having the dauntless power now!

Now to get after the donor CJ and carefully cut off the motor towers.

Master cylinder appears well made with exception of cap gasket which tore very easy!

seems the same to me beside the gasket-havent put it on yet. but taking the cap off seemed not to destroy anything, so i guess mileage may vary?
