I bought a parts Jeep a few months back and it still runs it has the v6. It came with a snow plow that runs off of the accessory belt drive it’s a small hydraulic pump. I’ve since replaced the hoses but the pump still leaks pretty bad. The only name I found in the pump was “monarch”. I would like to try and find parts and Information for it if possible. Any information would be appreciated

Doesn't look like the Jeep Hy-Lo Monarch in the photo.

People have been known to re-purpose power steering pumps from period vehicles. Looks a bit like that might be a possibility.

I think PeteL is correct. Doesn't resemble any Monarch I've seen. Monarch's also have casting marks.

So your saying that some type of monarch pump was adapted to a power steering pump? I’ll try and do more research

Monarch made pumps like what you have, should have a resovoir on firewall or fender,if its leaking at the shaft you should be able to put a new seal in it....or take it to a hydralic shop....those were quite common before electric plow units, google it see what shows up.

I think I mean the opposite?

Some owners jury rigged a used power steering pump to run a snowplow.

Definitely a Monarch Hy-Lo Jack. I see pump parts on Ebay for these all the time. There is the exact same pump on there right now. I guess your issue depends on where it is leaking, out the front shaft or through the housing? If it's the housing you can make a new gasket; I have not taken one apart to know what the shaft seal is.

So you are correct I did finally find out it was a monarch hy-Lo jack after cleaning all the grease off of it. On top of the pump is a diverter valve and that controls the angle and up and down motion of the plow. The packing on that is what was actually leaking, I cannot seem to find the exact diverter valve. Some other members posted links and I found and explored view so I know what I’m working with now it’s an O ring and a packing. Thanks for the help! I will tackle it this weekend.

If you take it to a tractor repair shop, they send off the old O-rings and packing to a supplier who measures them and provides exact replacements. Not super cheap, but might be worth trying if you can't find something yourself.

Interesting. I was not familiar with any Jeep Hy-Lo that didn't have the integral reservoir.
