Do people ever want used pushrods or am I correct in assuming that we just buy new ones for a rebuild? I'm guessing I should just toss these rather than trying to chip away at making some of my money back from a parts haul.

If the old pushrods are in good condition as far as no unusual wear on the ends, I would reuse them. If you can find new OEM or TRW branded, they would be fine. I would be wary of using Omix or offshore parts in an engine. I would want to know the company that made them.

I'm of the same opinion as Donny. I always reused them unless they had a problem. The originals are no doubt better than today's replacements.

I bought new pushrods for my f head and they were not straight. And put the old ones back in.

There is that word "new" again. :banghead:

At one time we could assume it meant "good." Not any more.

I have no intention of ever playing with an F head.
I’ll clean them up a little and inspect them to the best of my ability and then, if they seem okay to my inexperienced eyes, I’ll post them up for sale cheap.

Thank you for your input gents.

Mr Vaughn—— I don’t have a mirror to let go of at the moment. Sorry

I'm pretty sure I've also put together my last 134 of either stripe. And that was a couple decades ago----- There is just no incentive to deal with mid 20's technology unless one is doing a proper 100% restoration and I have absolutely no use for the resulting parade queen.

I still want a 2A but, aside from that, I'm itching for V8 in a cj5. But that's a whole other thing that may or may not ever happen.

It certainly makes for a much different vehicle. Way different even from the 225 versions and, IMO, better in every way.

I love V8 Jeeps! Some of my favorite old CJs had Chevy 283's and 327's in them. Plenty of power and torque, but not enough to break things. I drove my Tux for 20 years with an alloy Buick 215 in it. My goal was to keep it under 2000lbs and it performed really well.

Ive been in a couple of later Renegades/Golden Eagle CJ5s with stock 304s. They sure felt nice. Just hard to beat a V8.
