Dana Ring And Pinion Scribe Marks

    This chart could be handy when identifying gear sets where the application is unknown to buyers/sellers.
    Jeep swap meets, yards sales, even new OEM gear sets; The chart could help you identify the gear set.
    This chart was from Crown; I know what you are thinking/saying; this is the OLD Crown as we knew it, much like Rancho, Transportation Parts, and other QUALITY Jeep parts vendors from that period in time.
    The scribe marks shown would be factory stamped into each item, next to or below the DANA name.
    Anyways, decided to post this and maybe will help some folks out there.
    This information was not in any Jeep parts or service manual that I am aware of.

    NOTE: On each item would also appear a lightly hand etched three digit number that would absolutely confirm that the two items were matched sets. One should also look for these lightly etched marks.
