Just remember that's 2000lbs at a time without interstates or cellphones, the m416 is the perfect size. I found a 1200lb 7' X 10' coleman popup to be doable but uncomfortable (I'm planning on a trailer brake controller) . Biggest issue is a short wheelbase, soft suspension, and little weight on the rear axle allows the trailer to push the jeep side to side. If you have a stiffer rear suspension and extra low hung weight it would be better, better brakes are a must for any towing these days.

Oh, I know the military rating are for convoy speeds and whatnot. I get that. The flat bed I speak of is a converted 4x8 harbor freight trailer that I fully welded, shortened to 6 feet and added a heavier axle too. It's light enough I can stand on the tail of the trailer while it connected to a hitch and lift it

Jeep related as it's where I keep the Jeeps and work on them.

With the CJ2 project coming to an end, it was time for a big purge and reorganizing of the shop. I still need to go through the shelves, but that's a whole job in and of itself. I also ran out of garbage can space, ha.

I also tore down the Carter WO carb the previous owner sent with me in a box of parts for a rebuild. They put a Solex on it, which is actually fuelling the Jeep VERY well. I'm not sure if I want to rebuild this and put it on the shelf as a spare, put it back on the Jeep in place of the Solex.

Since one flat fender just isn't enough already....

I bought a GPW tub, MB frame, D23-2, and a Meyer's (?) snow plow. I miss my old 42 GPW and I've wanted another G503 since I sold it. The 3b is a dedicated off road rig at this point so I'm thinking this will be something I can enjoy on and off road.

Evidently I did not have enough clearance between my (3/4) small block chevy mechanical fuel pump and my front differential...

Now I has $12 fuel pump block off plate, but the bolts were too long so the fancy plate is under the busted fuel pump base with the arm knocked out.

Oh the joy of an '85 or marine 4.3

Question is : Why does it always seem to take much more putt'n 'em back together than it does tak'n 'em apart ?

After you take it apart, everything has to be cleaned to a “new penny” state before re assembly. Then, heaven forbid, if anything needs to be replaced, you have to wait for payday before you call Walcks, rock auto, your local Napa or wherever..,

Just received the ability to post pics in this thread. Thanks @Focker.

Not today. Finished several days ago and needed several days to accomplish.

Removed dual Wrangler battery tray to better access heater hose connections. Saw lots of medium surface rust on firewall plus peeling paint. Attacked damage with multiple wire wheels on a drill. Then sanded with my palm sander and 180 grit. Yeah I know, too coarse. I needed this project to be a quickie. Bigger issues to fix. Some self etching primer shot over the bare metal.

I removed the glove box cover and took it to Tri Valley Paints for a match. It's close, very close but not exact. Good enough for the firewall though.

With the tray back in. I also found rust in the tray. Media blasted the tray. Left the factory coating that was not coming off with the blaster. Three coats of epoxy primer, three coats of Rustoleum semi-gloss black.

With the spaghetti re-installed. If I had not taken multiple pictures before disassembly, I would not have remembered where all the wires and cables go to. 20220823_193222.jpg

Added a JB Custom Fab twin stick conversion to replace my super sloppy U pattern transfer case shifter.
Removing the "stock" parts was a solid gold beeyatch. The shifter did not want to come off the rail/shaft.

Anyway, after much disassembly, cursing and pain (but no blood sacrifice) I was able to R&R the parts. 20220829_185510.jpg 20220829_185457.jpg

Someone on this forum recommended this kit to me. Thank you whomever you are.

I got an OE bottom wiper windshield from B. Bob while out in CO. My aftermarket top wiper windshield went on the free Jeep (for now). I'm still not sure which one I prefer??

I cleaned up this one and put a fresh coat of paint on it. I had to order a new motor and wiper arms so it should work well.
