I have a leaf spring question. I have a 72 CJ5. It has a spring lift installed by a previous owner. The springs have no markings. The left rear is weak and sets noticeable lower than the others.

The question is; is there a way, method, formula, to determine what lift these springs are? I like the current lift and want to retain it at it’s current height. I don’t want to buy a new set only to install them and end up too high. I use this Jeep for light trails. No crazy stuff. Also, anyone know who sells a sway bar for this narrow frame CJ? Thank you for any info.

Welcome to the site! Introductions are a great way to start. Introductions | ECJ5 (earlycj5.com)
Your '72 model is considered an intermediate, so you might consider moving this post to the correct forum...then deleting this one.
Sway bars generally aren't used on early and intermediate models.

The most common lift is 2.5" for these early Jeeps. Yours most likely has this amount of lift, by looking at your avatar pic.

Welcome from Michigan. Do Intermediate Jeeps have the Jeep Lean? You may just need to add the shims on the left side of the body.

You can install the 76+ sway bar on the 72-75 models, or for that matter, any CJ back to 45. I installed an 1 1/8" diameter Addco bar on my 3B with modified JKS quick disconnect links and Energy Suspensions polyurethane bushings. You could use a double pin spring plate for the bottom link mount. I just welded a bracket on the axle tube.

For your use, the stock 7/8" diameter bar would likely work fine and those are soft enough you probably would not need disconnects for light trail use.

Sway bars most definitely reduce the lean tendency.

Spring height/lift: I believe the FSM will have the factory height of the top of the windshield, at least the older ones do. I'll check my 74 edition.
