Hey man, you do whatever you want. Its your jeep. The issue with the fuel is probably because its expanding due to the proximity via the fuel line to the exhaust manifold. Could be boiling.. Gasoline boils at 122 to 155 Fahrenheit. https://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/TblDefs/pet_pri_refoth_tbldef2.asp

The issues you have with your carb could be traced back to the routing of the fuel line. This was stated a couple times as a possible issue and the solution was to turn the top of the fuel pump 180 degrees before making a new fuel line.

You can try and fix this issue however you like, but you asked the questions and have the opinions of those here.

Totally. And I truly appreciate all the help you have been giving! I'm glad you guys pointed out heat effecting the fuel line because it wasn't something I had thought of when routing the fuel line. Makes sense though about the carb. Funny cause the reason I chose to not spin the pump around was because I thought it would be good to keep the metal fuel filter away from the manifold haha.

I also spent WAAAAYY too long making the darn fuel line yesterday so if there's an easier solve for a potential heat problem than having to make and route another fuel line, I'd be pumped.
Maybe I'll just grab a length of heat shroud for the fuel line. I'm reading good things about them. That way, I still have the accessibility of reaching the fuel line in the future and It'll be protected at the same time :)

I do suspect the fuel pump orientation helps keep the intake line away from the exhaust, otherwise why would it be that way.

If I was you, I'd just re-bend the output line you have already made, and route it as Scoutpilot suggests. Call it good, and move on.

If you are not building things 3 or 4 times and putting stuff on and taking it off 100 times...I feel sorry for you, cause you're doing it wrong!

Thanks Rick. I was looking for a way to clean this up and make it a little easier for me to route today!

Well, I have often experienced rubber fuel hoses developing leaks, commonly at the clamps. It would appear that pressurized fuel potentially could then spray into the engine bay, and onto the hot exhaust. ?

False equivalence. Copper lines are never considered appropriate, since it work hardens and cracks with vibration.

Simple steel brake tubing works well with hard fittings. Such as was OEM.
