Great Sunday

Brought this one home today.
Mounted to a homemade hitch mount that weighs as much as the winch. The blue wiring needs to be replaced. Other than that, just a clean and bolt on.

I gave the hitch mount to my friend,
cost for the winch was $1.81 per pound!
I'm going to mount this one on my CJ-6 and probably sell the Warn M8000 that is mounted on it now. The M8000 has been great, it is in good condition and has never left me stuck.
This one is more of an age match to my jeep though.

 

8274 is one of the best electric winches of all time. Fast, hard pulling, and upgradeable. Only downside is the weight but well worth the trade off.

 

2x on Nick's comment. I don't even think they weigh significantly more than most of the current offerings if using the same rope/line. They are about 20 lbs lighter than their Belleview/Warn predecessor. And with a 9.5XP bolt-in replacement motor, even faster and 10k rated. Not to mention you can still get every replacement part.

 

Local guy mated two 8274's together, much like the Gigglepin winches. Very fast. Scary what and how fast it could pull. You almost could not grab the rope without it being pulled out of your hands. He pulled it off after a season where he competed in tough truck type events.
