Cj5 With Pto Driven Welder

    Picked this up at auction over the weekend. Anyone have any info about this? Auction listing said produced by u.s. Steel. Tag on welder says a.j “Jeep” parsons Washington pa. So guessing that this was built by a dealer. Trying to get info but not coming up with much. Sat in barn for over 20+ years. They put a natural gas carb on it and used/ran it in the barn. Also has 15” split lock rims. Has a Allstate winch. Welder is a sae300 Lincoln. Not a m38a1 due to battery box on cowl being sealed off and having heater where batteries would have gone Definitely an unusual piece.

    I have no info, but that is cool!

    Never seen 15" split rims on a Jeep before either.

    Thats the second one of these welder Jeeps I know of. I have seen one back in the 1980’s in Norfolk, Va. I have seen another CJ with 16” split rims before, but I assumed they were cobbled together. I also like the barn doors on the hard top.

    It has a sickle bar, a buzz saw, a Boom and winch, welder, and a front winch on it, all running off the Jeep motor.

    The stencils seem to show it was built as a maintenance vehicle for a pipeline or a utility company? This jeep would be a blast to own if you can get it fully operational again.

    The windshield looks like a proper CJ5 frame that someone added fillers to the sides to use a CJ3a/b width glass.
