My CJ6 had these on it when I brought it (side lights), now I'm pretty sure they are not factory and may have been added over the years or possibly from new in the UK to meet the then rules, question is should I keep them or remove them. Need to know so I can weld up the holes if so required.

I'd ditch them ( would look lots cleaner) but that's just my opinion

Check your local laws first. If not required then I'd get rid of them
Guys, remember he is overseas and the laws may differ

I've heard that the UK requires separate running, brake, & turn signal lights. That would be my guess as to their purpose. You might be able to come up with a cleaner installation...

Don't have any at the mo, trying to work out what to do there also, was going to use the later 76+ style ones but they are too expensive over here (shipping, taxes etc)

I think the JEEP would look better without, if the local authorities wont give you any trouble

You could look into retrofitting some front and rears from the newer TJ Wranglers.
They mount on the front fenders and the rear should be the later style but with the Euro-style lens with the amber turn section.
Those should be available over on your side at the dealer
T.P. Waters over in Kildare perhaps?

I prefer the original CJ version without additional light fixtures on fenders....All the best with the work presently at hand!

I dunno, I don't think they're that bad. Are you planning on restoring the 6? If so, it would look better without them, but if you just want to leave her as is and get her running well, then I'd probably leave them alone. :)

I like the cleaner look. I vote no on those lights unless required by law.
