    Hi guys first post,

This thread will be about my R1 that I'm restoring with some slight mods. I have owned the jeep for eleven years now and wheeled it all over Washington, pretty much destroying it in the process after being rolled twice and put on it's side once. It will be restored with the addition of a 44 front, lift (spring under), Sm465, and a hopped up fresh motor. The Jeep has a Warn overdrive and 4:88 gears, a flanged axel offset 44 and a 8274. The original owner installed power steering and a tilt telescoping column out of a Buick of some kind. It also has an extra rear tank and roll cage. Unfortunately the dashpad, visors and rear tire rack are missing. My R1 was built in Oct of 69 and is serial # 8305017 361814. Must have been a early R1 with the reflectors on the hood and rear quarters instead of turn signals? Any way today I got it moved into the garage and pulled the nose off and started disasembling to pull the tub. Hopefully I'll get the tub off by the weekend!

    This Weeks Update:

Got the tub off and started disassembling components off the frame and also test fit brake components on narrowed 44 front end. Next week's goal is to get the frame stripped to send to the blaster. New photos on my photobucket link.

What part of Washington are you in? I have an original 1970 R1 that I am restoring also. My brother found it under a tarp in a friends back yard. Near as we can figure since he gave it to me, I am the 4th owner. VIN #8305017361467 Same color, original stripe insert upholstery, spare tire carrier. I really need to figure out this picture thing.

If you have need to reproduce an original style swing away spare tire carrier I would be willing to let take pics & measurements from mine.
