Should I Get New Cylinder Head Studs When I Replace The Head Gasket?

    Assuming they are in good shape it really isn’t necessary. The old ones can be reused if in good shape. Modern vehicles frequently use what are called “torque-to-yield fasteners” which must be replaced every time. Yours is not one of those.

    Good practice to clean all threads, internal and external, so as to get accurate torque readings during re-assembly.
