Hello people, I´m sorry for my english, I´m new here and I´m from Brazil and here I have 3 CJ5 brazilian model, it has some little differences between your american CJ. So, first I'm sorry if my post is on wrong place, I [m really lost, have been read some posts but didn't find the information about my doubt. I have a new project and I'm buying some parts from the USA, but the last part that I received here in Brazil (1979 CJ5 Fender from CROWN) I detected the thickness of the metal thinner than the original CJ Fender. Other people tell me that has some brands or some companies that reproduce the same part but with the same thickness (or thicker) than the original. Somebody has knowledge about it? What the brand , for example a FRONT GRILLE, that you recomend? Thank you so much... Charles

Welcome to the forum. The best bet is to try to find original OEM or used parts. All the aftermarket sheet metal seems to be thinner than stock. It seems almost all the aftermarket hoods come pre-bent, dented and do not fit correctly + they are thin.
Good luck with your projects:: Rodney in Norther California.

[Hello mr Rodney, thank you so much. In fact the Original Used (OEM is the Brand?) is being my 2nd option, I ´m looking for it on Ebay and other websites, but the difficult is find one with a good apear, without rust too much.

Sorry about the confusion. Local U.S. slang and abbreviations don't translate well. OEM = Original Equipment Manufacturing.

Not trying to plug other forums, but, you may want to try Jeepforum.com. There seems to be plenty of "spare parts" folks over there.
