E track. I love the stuff. I buy sections of it and cut it up to weld individual pieces where I need them.

I needed a few more strap points on my little trailer, so I grabbed a section of track and started dicing it up. I welded four around the outside, and I recessed two into the center. I cut the wood with a multi-tool and plug welded the track sections to the frame.

Another neat trick; you can cut the rectangular shape into any 1/16”-1/8” steel to accept the clips. I did this in the sides of my dump truck bed.

I also cut the slot into pieces of tubing and welded them to the rack for a few low-profile strap mounts.

    Just sharing ideas.

Neat idea! What is the size of the hole you need to cut for the e-track to work?

Any reason to choose this over the aircraft cargo track?

    I’ll check when I get a chance.
I didn’t know it existed until now. :D And after looking at it, it looks quite pricey. This stuff is cheap, and the accessories are available at tractor stores and some hardware stores. Heck, even ratchet straps with the hardware sewn in are $9 at harbor freight.

But, but, it's much more "overland" and less "u-haul"

I am using this stuff right now in my Uhaul trailer to tie down my dirt bikes. I made floor out of double 3/4 plywood, bought cheap motorcycle front wheel HF chocks, some E track and E track rings. The stuff works better than I could ever have imagined. I also use the E track to tie the back wheels down with ratchet straps and tracks out of 2x4.

Did Poison Spider yesterday and Hells Revenge today on my 2021 Beta 300RR, My oldest son on my old 300 Beta Xtrainer and my middle son on his CRF230.

3 bikes in a 6x12 uhaul, all our gear and 2 yoga balls between the bikes. Not one issue.

    1/2” (minimum) x 2 7/16” (critical)

The clips will fit in a 2 3/8” hole, but there’s not enough clearance for the lock to latch.
A 2 1/2” hole doesn’t leave much material for the ends to grab onto and could be a weakness.
