I seem to have misplaced my original dash pad clips. I am wanting either the dimensions or (preferably) if someone has extras, I would really like to have originals.
Qty is 4 of them, and they are the funky pretzel shaped clip. I believe that the pretzel part is roughly .75" and the hole in the windshield is .25". Worst case, I can just source them.

    Part is in yellow below.

These look similar to those used in the '60s to retain the welt strip on the top of the grill. Also, the M715 used a similar clip to retain the metal door panels. Some were open head as you have pictured, and others had smooth button heads capping them.

I thought the same thing, however the parts book lists them as separate pn's. Dash pad 969191 and the clip for the welt is 954117. I believe (from memory only) that the welt clip is somewhat smaller.

Out curiosity what year is the dash on? I just went and checked mine ( 71 RII) which is all original and mine do not have that clip, just plain pan head screws all the way across holding the dash pad.

Mike, the clips are under the pad part way down. Here is the backing plate without the pad.

Mike, Mar of 71. Also what Mark said above. I have never seen a dash pad that did not have the four clips on the backing plate. The screws on top keep in place laterally and the clips to the vertical windshield frame keep it from moving fore and aft.

See pics below. Yellow arrows point where they are located. The clip mounts to the backing plate and push into the windshield.

Aww, that makes sense now, I was thinking about the wrong spot, suspect mine are like you are talking about also. Thanks for explaining.
