This will be another of my slooow threads because it's a seasonal side project. Basically the old hardtop needs love, rust repair, tree repair, bike rack repair from the tree pulling the rack off.
Along the way I want to document the parts so that someone ambitious enough could make one from scratch.

Let's begin by removing the rusted through bolts with a grinder:

I found a tire guage and a ball point pen.

To my understanding this is a "built for Willys by Koenig" top and it is not original to my jeep. I believe my jeep started life with a half cab and plow based on the paint layers. At some point it was fitted with this top before I got the jeep in 2005.

Originally the top was painted silver inside. That was painted black after the first passing car illuminated the inside (and my glasses).

Another day and I've met a goal of getting the top out of the weather.
It was relatively easy to break the top down into a kit.

From what i can guess this would ship as:
    Left door
    Right door
    Rear hatch
    Visor filler
    2 Windshield gussets
    Left and right Rear gussets
    Roof
    Roof supports
    Driver side window and frame
    Passenger window and frame
    Rear door frame.

The Roof and visor were attached with about twenty pounds of 1/4-20 bolts.
The doors each have 5 3/8" bolts to the tub.
The 3 Rear hatch rollers use 2 1/4-20 bolts for each bracket.
    To be continued...
