    Hi guys
Installing a 225 V6 in a 47' 2A. What size diameter air cleaner will comfortably fit? 11"? 14"? ??? Most likely the air cleaner element will be 2" or 3" in height if I can use a low base air cleaner.

    Thanks, Jim

It's going to depend on the engine placement but I suspect you can run a 14". I always have had 14" cleaners on the sbc's in my 3B but that may or may not apply to the 225. Definitely wait until the engine is installed before ordering. 2 barrel or 4 barrel?

    thanks for the reply.
going to be a 4 barrel. 600 CFM Q-jet if I can find one for a good price. A 14" is a decent size air cleaner for sure.

With my flatty swaps it has come down to clearance between the firewall and carb center post. I've used an oval air cleaner with a lot of success in the swaps.

A 14" housing diameter is a bit larger than the stock 225...at least for dry element '71.
