So I had to take my new windshield to a shop cuz I just couldnt do it myself. Just got a call stating that the new glass is too small by about 1/4 inch all around. Got it from Kaiser Willys. Cant get through to them cuz its black friday. Does anyone have the dimensions of a correct windshield so I know if the shop is full of it or not? Jeep is a 1961 if that makes a difference.

I have one down in the barn with a cracked glass. I may be able to get some measurements if the glass doesn't fall apart when I try to remove it. May be a day or two before I have time to give it a try.

thanks, Im gonna go get it from him on monday and measure it myself, if its small I'll have to deal with KW for a refund, hope they don't want me to ship it back. I've been told there's a glass shop here that can cut a flat windshield, so I will go that route next time. If the glass is the right size I'll still go to the other shop and assume the first place didn't know how or didn't want to do it.

Couple or three years ago I had a glass shop here in WA cut and install a windshield in my new Walck's frame for about a hundred bucks. Walck's supplied the gasket too.

As an update, I went and got my windshield and frame back from the shop. Laid my new glass over my old cracked one and they are identical. So looks like KW is off the hook, they sold me the right glass. Shop must be dumbasses or don't want to bother. I'll try another place tomorrow.

OK, the next shop said that the first one was correct, the glass is too small, but not because of the glass, its because the new gasket is thinner than the original. Comparison to some old gasket confirms this. So even though the new glass is the original size, it needs to be oversized in order to fill the void left by the smaller gasket. I will let KW know about it, not sure if they will care or not.

I’d definitely let KW know. Would be nice to know what their response is. Can’t the glass shop supply the proper gasket? It’s just industrial glass seal material. Many glass shops have it on a roll and cut to the length they need.
