I D cut out above left rear tail light.

    Did it come on all 2A? If not, was it a Jeep option? I’m figuring it has something to do with electrical, maybe for a trailer or other.

    AFAIK it was a 2A thing only. I know none of my biscuitfenders have had it...

    Yup. AFAIK all the '2As had it, it was a holdover from the MB/GPW. The military Jeeps had a spring-loaded trailer plug mounted there, but the '2A just had a flat plate mounted ver the hole.

    I have a cut out on both my 2As so that would lead me to believe the 2As without the cut out patched them over.
