Its off a supersonic engine, raises the compression by either .5 or 1.0. Cant remember right now though  Heres a link to a picture of it. http://clubs.hemmings.com/clubsites/wocv/willywilly/willywilly.htm If you search around on that site and on G503.com you'll find some more info on it.

Heard about these forever. Never actually touched one, but can't remember anyone saying if these do anything for flow. Anyone know? I know that they increase compression but are they supposed to improve flow?

Bill, Bill, Bill, when you get rid of motors like you mentioned above you are suppose to keep rare parts for later down the road. Now you've deprived someone of a really cool hi po part. You need to say I'm sorry and head to the corner with Dennis. he's probably out of Cheetos by now so take some with you when you go.:D

I'm pretty sure the combustion chamber is shaped differently than the stock L head (somewhere on this intraweb there are some pictures of all the diff. heads compared to each other) And from all the searching I have done and what I can find out is that the head is pretty much the only difference in between the Super Sonic engine and a regular L head.

Here is the link. About half way down it has the stock 2a/3a head. Then it shows the Supersonic head. There is a big difference in the shape of the chamber.

I dont remember getting rid of the head just done know where I placed. It came out of a 1942 gpw that was shot, engine would have still been good if someone had not left it with two plugs out and let it fill with water. The two cylinders that had plugs in them where mint. I still have the engine block, just think the head might have went when I sold the body and cj3a frame I was going to mount it to. I will have a look for it next time I go up to my parents see if I can find it. I will go stand in the corner, I hope he at least saved some cheeto crumbs for me.

GreenK, was there any math involved in your design or did you just wing it?[/QUOTE]

Sorry, didn't see your post last night. Math, yes where pipes joined. My goal was to have the final item fit in place of the original, so the outlet had to be the same size as the factory front pipe (1-1/2", I think). Since I have two cylinders tied to each side of a Y, I wanted the final circumference of the two welded pipes to be the same as the front pipe. Had to figure and cut out this wedge-looking section from each pipe to get it to work out.

Note: This thing has some kind of organ pipe amplification going on that I can't explain. At first I ran a turbo muffler but the noise was unbearable. Running a big muffler RH under the tool box and it's still loud. Torque went up nicely though.
