Has anyone on here transplanted an early 80’s 4.3L Diesel engine into their CJ? I have a 225 Oddfire in mine right now, have 2 spare 225’s and a spare 231 Oddfire I just bought, but... now I want to get and transplant that diesel into it. I have done quite a bit of research on this and it looks like the LT6 engine will bolt right up to the trans as it has the BOP bolt pattern.

You are better off with a VW, Mercedes, or Kubota.
Because they weren't a rush to put to market.

The 4.3 would have been ok given a few more years and better funding, but in all honesty those engines (4.3 and 350d) are money sinkers and per dollar you will be better with something intended to burn oil from the start and has available parts.

Regrettably sold it 20 years ago. My wife has never asked me to sell anything since. Which is probably why I have $10,000 worth of spare parts for my $2,500 Jeep. Lol
