Are they supposed to be full of grease? My passengers side hub won't fully rotate to lock, so I went to take it apart and a bunch of grease started flowing out of it, so I stopped. Is this normal, or do I have a bad seal or gasket somewhere? :?

A lockout shouldn't be full of grease. Take it apart and see if anything looks broken.....if not, somebody before you might have packed it full of grease. I've seen this done before by someone that didn't know any better, and it caused his lockouts to come unlocked when he was in the trails.

Ok that is what I needed to know. I will need to get a bucket and some parts cleaner ready first because that sucker is full of nastiness!

I'm not sure what brand it is. I think it's original though. It's had the same hubs for as long as I can remember (about the past 20 years or so).

Clean all parts. Reassemble with a light coat of white lithium grease.

Jeeps didn't come with locking hubs from the factory until sometime in the '70s I don't believe. Original would be a drive flange.

There were several brands available though, dealer and owner installed. Pics are available in the gallery picture bank.

On a side note...in the Hub Gallery you will find these 2 pics of a hub that came on my 1962 CJ in Canada from the dealer.

I do not know if they were from the factory or dealer installed but the picture of the full Jeep is shortly after it was delivered and you can see the hubs...along with the Ramsey PTO winch and export split front window
