    Hi, guys.

Is there supposed to be an acceptable amount of endplay in a Dana 30 front axle shaft? I jacked up the drivers side of my jeep up today, and put a crowbar in the center of the left axle u-joint. The crowbar was also wedged against the axle yoke. This allowed me to pry the axle outward. It moved about 1/8 to 3/16".

Is this normal? If not, how can I tighten it up? I looked in my FSM, but couldn't find any info on this. TIA.

That is about the normal amount of axle end float on a D30. It is contolled by a snap ring in the wheel hub on the outer end and a teflon thrust washer against the spindle on the inner side.
