76 windshield to 72

need to know if the newer hinges will work on my 72 body .any help would be much apreciated.thanks in advanced

 

They are not the same, if that's what you are asking. They can be made to fit the '72 body with some minor fitting. Fairly certain they will not work with the older windshield, even with modification. What did you have in mind, using the hinges or changing the entire windshield? This has been covered a lot in the past - lots of discussion if you search. There's also an article in the tech section describing the different windshield styles.

I bought a soft top for the 72 it was sopposed to be for it .put it out of the way 4 awhile .Well the other day I whent to put the doors on and guess what there later model doors slant back(76 later) but I Have a newer windshied off of a 80,s cj7 it fits on but i dont have higes and the 72 are diffent

 

You can use the windshield and hinges from the later on your 72

This is what I am doing on my 65. When I rebuilt my 78 I had a windshield frame that I didn't use. I also have a soft top from another 78 so I'll put both on the 65 and have a top.

Is your top for a '72 or for a '76 and later? Not clear to me from your previous message.

If you have an early top ('75 and earlier), you need an early windshield. If you have a late top ('76 and later) you need a late windshield.
