Thanks for the information on the military wheel, haven't decided if I am going in that direction or not. If I don't, what is the easiest way to put power steering on the jeep for big wheels and tires, lift kits etc. I prefer bolt on kits as a posed to fabrication.

All the Saginaw conversions (using the GM Saginaw steering gear ahead of the axle) are weld-on.

There is a bolt-on kit from Herm www.hermtheoverdriveguy.com but it has had mixed reviews.

Search and you'll find lots and lots of old threads to read and consider.

What Timgr said. I'd like to add, pretty much any conversion of this type will require at least some fab work. Not trying to be harsh but if you want to do conversions and want bolt on only a wrangler might be a better choice of vehicle. There are some conversions on these old Jeeps that are bolt on, but many do require fabrication by the owner. Another option would be to find someone who can do the work for you.

What condition is your stock steering box in? I have a 67 and am looking for a good box to replace the one I have now.

I'm not sure what shape the stock steering box is in I haven't got the Jeep home yet ....I looked at the link Daryl sent me and one person on there had a picture of a bracket kit ...I was curious if that was a kit someone offered to convert these Jeeps or they made it and if anyone might have a diagram of the bracket

I don't mean to derail this, but I am also doing a power steering conversion. Mcruff, do you have this kit for sale somewhere? I feel like this would make life a bit easier for the conversion. Thanks so much.

65chevy, goodluck with the project! If I run into anything cool and unique with mine, I will post something useful for you.

    Thanks
