Best 6 volt battery?

    I have five vehicles that all take same size 6 volt battery. Unlike 12 volts, the FLAPS seem to offer just one standard level of quality - no options for better durability or longer life-span.

    Occasionally someone will mention using a "caterpillar" battery or some such.

    Any suggestions for getting the best long-life six volt battery (to fit an early CJ5) - at a sensible cost?

    Odyssey is one of the best but bigger money. How about checking with golf cart or RV suppliers?

    Optima's used to be top-tier. My experience on the latest ones have not been near as good as in the past. I've had longevity issues in the last two I purchased. The first two I had lasted much better. I've heard similar reports from lots of other folks. As usual, ymmv.
