    Many parts interchange (timing cover assy, rocker shaft assys, I believe heads, etc). Though closely related, the 198 and 225 have an entirely different bellhousing pattern. The 198 is also closely related to the Buick/Olds 215 alloy V8 from sililar years.
    What particular parts are you thinking about?

    I have access to a complete 198, just curious if it could be parted out, or if anything could be kept for a spare on my 225

    John that 198 is a great little engine especially if one wants to run a T90 .
    The 198/215 Buick bell will bolt direct up to Borg Warner Jeep T90's pattern.
    Many internal parts are same or similar like cam for example.
    198 cam is near identical but with slightly less lift than a 225 cam.
