I am finishing up my Dana 30 swap and can’t be happier with the way it is turning out. I can see the width difference in between the front and rear even without the body on the frame yet.

How many people install rear spacers to get the wheels tracking the same or do you leave the rear 3” narrower?

    I have a 70 flanged 44 in the rear.

    Thanks

    RVS

I believe the rear WMS-WMS spacing does not change with the introduction of the slightly wider Dana 30. Most cars have a wider front track than rear anyway. Makes a smaller turning circle too. Not an issue IMO.

Add rear wheel spacers “IF” your rear tires are scrubbing the inside of wheelhouse.
Rear wheelhouse scrubbing is due to excess tire width or the wheel being inset.
Otherwise your better off without spacers. IMHO

Just a comment - the brand-new Jeeps with H78-15 factory tires scrubbed the inside of the wheel wells, to no ill effect other than loss of a little paint. Not an issue IMO.

Thanks for the feed back. I will see if I have an issue when I put the tub back on, but I don’t plan to add spacers if I know have to.

Since the track ends up only 1 1/2" wider on each side, the extra width isn't really that noticeable. You do benefit with a tighter turning radius by a sharper steering angle before the tire rubs on the spring.

I never added wheel spacers, I have had a set in the garage for years and never saw fit to add them. Almost every straight axle pickup ever sold had a wider front track than the rear.

Except Willys Pickups. One of the oddballs where the rear is wider than the front.

The MB5 runs 1.5 spacers in the rear. No issues although I do have a full float conversion.

No spacers on my setup - haven't needed them even with 33s and wheeling. Very minor rub in some very bad spots even on a Flattie.

Yep. My 5 scrubbed a lot of paint there with stock wheels and tires (H78-15).

I had a set set of 1 5/16" spacers made to move my spindle out on my full float 44.
