1956 CJ5, F134, 6v... Anyone use Eiko H6006 50/40w 6.4v replacement bulbs? I picked up a couple today from O'Reilly's to replace my GE 5040 & Safe-T-Beam 5040 6v bulbs so I could fix my lack of lo-beam issue. Plugged them right up and everything seems to work as it should but was wondering if anyone had experience with these bulbs? Longevity? Issues? Good things? I don't drive the CJ5 much at night and for $11 each, they seemed like a good option...

Yes - Lots of pics hosted in my media folder on the site. This should be the link to page 1 of 4: TonyM CJ5 | ECJ5 As you'll see, I'm a proponent of keeping it as stock as possible. The body is in remarkable shape with no patches - the jeep must have been in a slab floor barn or garage it's whole life. The only rust through is on the two taillight panels where the body mount brackets hold the most moisture. Even has the original dealership stencil on the tailgate (POs spared the dealer stencil but painted over the Four Wheel Drive stencil which can still be seen at the right angle). Anyway - i spoke to the son of the dealership owner a couple years ago on the phone. He has a repair shop in St. Louis and remembers the Willys dealership as a kid. My daughter and I made the safari top a few weeks ago. Keeping it 6v for the foreseeable future because I just putt around in it on weekends and it works great. May replace the dash to clean up the holes from a POs radio install or I may find a radio to put in the hole since the 6 to 12v power converter is still under the dash to power it. Pulled out most of the turn signal stuff that PO began to install but never finished. New stock springs and shocks are a goal for early next year. Anyway, enjoy the pics!

The only thing I'd recommend with 6 volts is to go through any wirirng connections that carry higher current & make sure they're clean, a little oxide ot corrosion raelly hurts on 6V systems.

As for the loghts I'm not familliar with them byt 50 watts is 50 watts.
