What header are you looking at? The Clifford one?
Weber 2bbl carb?
I was going to try and make my header but I’d need the 3B steering in place and that’s not going to happen anytime soon. So yes, clifford it is.
Going to try a Rochester 2bbl carburetor
Alright picked up a 2.02 valve and it fits the head like a glove. I could actually run a slightly larger one and get away with it,,,probably. There is a noticeable weight difference in the two. A gm retainer fits the f134 valve spring also.
So my plan is to see if I can’t install k-line bullet liners, broach, then hone to size so the 11/32 stem will work in a 3/8 guide.
Any chance you have access to a dyno and are going to test this out after all this modifications? There's a speedshop in Atlanta that offers 3 runs for $50 on thursday evenings but that's probably a bit of a drive from Mississippi.
I know of one chassis dyno here. I’ll ask around and see if there’s an engine dyno local.
I didn’t want to end up like the typhoon guy so I never said I was going to dyno it.
We’ll see what happens.
I keep forgetting to add...
I have an sbc hei distributor and from the measurements I took it looks like all I have to do is cut the distributor base(?) about .100 thou and then I have to deal with the difference in the rotation of the sbc vs f134.
Also the bullet liners will work so I can run the 2.02’s.
Two months ago (or more?) I started to clean up the flywheel and a bearing went out then the motor started to pour smoke Yesterday the motor came back.
Unlike the cylinder head I figured .020 was as much as I wanted to take off this thing. It had some damage/low spots but it's much better now.
