Well, getting close to finishing her up. Started the reassembly process. Should have taken more photos with my phone camera on some the stuff before removal. Still have to restore the steering wheel, paint the front and rear cross member/bumperettes, and whatever else needs to be done. Anyway, I will try and post some photos I took today before chow call. Am waiting for the mail to get the tailgate decal/sticker. The really next big step will be to get her running again and then the costly upholstery.

    To all,

The latest as of this afternoon.

    upload_2017-10-11_18-22-33.png
The bumper is painted full gloss, which is too much. Will strip it and paint it semi gloss instead. Ordered the new upholstery today, should be in by first of next month. Had to get another gas tank which should arrive next week sometime. Progress seems slow, but I guess you can't do much about that some days.

    75 DJ,
    Thanks for the compliment !
    Twin2,
Yes, I know they were black, but someone of a higher paygrade wanted it painted white, with the white rims and Jeep on the side painted white as well(she does the Jeep lettering painting, but hasn't done the panels yet). The upholstery will be black though instead of the original tan it is now.

    fhoehle,

    Thanks for the compliment.
Just when you think you are getting close, another issues happens. Got the repro cj5 gas tank with the six holes for the sending unit. Had to do a wee bit of adjusting where the outlet and drain go through the floor. Took care of that and then found the fuel tank outlet fitting was two small to accept the original(?) fuel line. So another outlet fitting will have to be soldered in. I have the original V6 in the jeep and had to adapt the new tank to the fuel/vapor return line.
It could be the F head fuel line is of smaller diameter than the one for the V6 or perhaps someone changed the fuel line to the larger size.
So today's project after my duties(yard work before the next storm) for queen and country are taken care of, the fuel line issue will be addressed.

Yes, 1/4" IIRC. The MTS plastic tank would eb a better fit, and can use the lock ring sender. Or have your old tank repaired.

Still waiting on the gas tank outlet line fitting replacement from the radiator shop. But have some good news, the repro tail lights came in and I was able to install them. Getting to look better all the time. Perhaps the gas tank will be repaired in time to drive her before the next storm hits(whenever that will be). Got the repro seat covers in the house now warming up the material so I can install them and get rid of the original tan colored seat covers.

    To all,

My wife and I would like to wish everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving. Our grandkids will be coming up after Thanksgiving to visit this year. Last year we went down to CA where they live, but this year, the family is coming home to Oregon.

As a result of this upcoming visit I had to move the CJ 5 out of the shop to make room for their car when they come up. Here a few photos of the 5 in its current state. Still haven't got the black seat covers installed, but perhaps after the visit I can finally get er done.

Wow.. That's very generous. My wife didn't get to use the garage until she got a new car this past summer.

    Focker,
With the little ones coming, it is better to off load them in the garage. The cj 5 is living over at the neighbor's shop/garage along side his 65 Barracuda until the kids shove off back to CA.
