It's not. I'm elbows-deep in another magazine project that's more complex and is sucking up most of my free time. I'll be heading up to the shop to weld on the spring pads and then drag it home with my new tow rig.

Just gotta wire up a 7-pin connector and it'll be ready to haul the mail.

I like your new tow rig, Christian. You'll need to start a new post detailing your plans for it.

Eh, I don't think I'll bother. It's just a dead-stock '72 J4000 (360 2 bbl, TH400, Dana 20, twin Dana 44s w/ 4.09s and drum brakes). I'm gonna put a new bench seat in it (or Wagoneer buckets), get the factory A/C working, and do up some work lights here and there but otherwise I'm not messing with it. Here's a couple towing photos, though.

Hauling the CJ-6 home from the shop I was mooching a bay from (thanks 4 Wheel Parts of Temecula, CA!).

Little rear squat with the trailer tongue weight and a bed full of '71 CJ axles and five wheels/tires.

Sweet J-truck! My dad has a 73 J-4000 just like it (only his is a T18 ) that he's owned since 1978. Tough trucks. The closed knuckle front 44 isn't that thrilling, but there's nothing inherently wrong with it and it works just fine.

Congrats on getting the -6 welded up, Steve.

Hard Top: It's gonna stay on through the TTC event (assuming I get voted in). I'll take it off for the Tank Trap so it doesn't get destroyed. Otherwise, not so sure about whether I'll keep it or not. If I take the top off I'll give you a shout.

Driveshafts: I'm saving them 'cause the way I'm building it I'll be able to put it back to stock specs if I want.

Avocados: My trees are fubar. Not even watering them anymore so they're not producing. If you meant dropping a case of Avos off for me, I don't eat the things.

SM420: Yeah, I may still need one for the CJ-6 build. PM or email me how much he's asking. I'm flying to Detroit tomorrow but maybe I can go snag it when I return if it's not too spendy.

Been a while since I've posted but I'm getting back into this project a little. Spent a little time this morning putting on a junkyard power steering bracket and pump I snagged from an even-fire 231.

Gonna be tossing a bunch of stuff from this rig shortly and figured I'd put it up here for grabs free first before I trashed it. First to show up gets it, but I can't ship. Hit me at christian.hazel@gmail.com if you need it.

First to go is the stock fuel system - under-bed tank (filler vent broken off and needs to be welded back on), V-6 fuel pump, hard return lines (from pump to over manifold).

My toolbox time is virtually nil these days, but I'm hoping to at least get the fuel, brake, and steering built quickly so I can move it around under its own power. I'll swap in the SM420 I snagged for it and put Detroits in the Rockwells after it's mobile.

Is this the same CJ-6 featured in the 2017 Ultimate Adventure?

If so, job well done w/ it, as it turned out looking awesome!

I like just about everything about this jeep. If I were to nitpick, I think the tires could move in like 3", maybe 4. I'm really intrigued by that Cummins too, I don't think I could ever afford it but I can dream!
