....Quite badly! I had a chance to work on my Jeep today and one of the things that I did was put the stock shackles back on. All that went well but I was hoping against hope it would make a difference in the way the Jeep sat. It has had about a two inch lean to the right and I thought maybe doing the shackles might unbind something and it would level off. Nope! It still sags on the passenger side.

So my question is what are my options? Who would have good quality springs in a stock arch and not overly stiff? Has anybody had any luck with a spring shop re-arching the springs and have them hold their shape over the long hall? I'm doubtful as to spending money on 50 year old springs. Also the thought of buying springs from the far east gives me the willies. Some pun intended.

I have never seen any re-arched springs hold shape over time. Some claim to have done it though. BDS springs (once broke in) ride really nice.

BDS nominally is 2.5" lift? I like my BDS springs - from memory, they are not much higher than the new factory "HD suspension" ride height.

There are also Dayton replacement springs that RockAuto lists. IIRC several places sell those under various names. Walck's also has springs, and they have a good reputation - IIRC made in USA. Figure to spend $150-200 per corner. I don't have a book for '67, but the 7 leaf front, 5 leaf rear Daytons look pretty close to OEM "standard" suspension. I would avoid the Omix springs. Search old posts - there is a lot of discussion of this topic.

Note that Jeep used a zoo of different leaf counts and thicknesses over the years. If you want to match the OEM springs exactly, someplace like Deaver or Alcan can make whatever you want, but you will pay a premium price.

You could also look at old posts on "Jeep lean." You may be disappointed when you get all new springs and your Jeep still leans. They lean. Jeep had a SB kit that put a block in the high side to even out the lean. It works, but do you want to reduce your suspension travel with a block?

Try switching the springs left and right and see what happens.

Swap your springs one side to the other, it should come out close to level.

I've sourced springs including soft multi-leaf packs with small lift made by National Spring. They are in the San Diego Area.
You need to call them and tell them what you want and they make them to order.

Jeep knew there was an issue with "lean" and supplied a spring/axle spacer (#9120783) to help. There is a NOS one on eBay in AMC packaging under item #3721 1394 3375. It may help that un-invited friend named Ilene go away!

Interesting! Instead of lifting the low side one drops the high side.
I'd like to get a copy for my library.

I have a dose of Ilene on my 70. I plan to use a spacer on one side. Dispatcher 100's have a spacer on one side of the front. The pin is cast in the spacer. It is a 1/2 " thick.

The Dispatcher 100 front spacer will work front and rear on a CJ with 1.75" spring but the rear spacer won't. The Dispatcher 100 has a wider rear spring and spacer.

Ill need to get new U-bolts for that side on my DJ5 because they aren't long enough to accommodate the spacer.

I bought the part on ebay. It is a piece of 1/2" plate, 3.38 x 1.75 with a half in hole centered. Dowel is 1/2" x .581. The directions are attached. CCF11202017_00000.jpg CCF11202017_00001.jpg

Thank you for posting that! Let us know if you can how much difference the 1/2'' shim made and how much sag you were trying to compensate for with it.

As Tim said in post#7, the instrucions are the best part. Thank you for sharing these with the rest of us!
I used one of these kits back in the mid'70s, but it didn't help much. I thought I would never see another kit for sale.
    Thanks again -Donny

I put Rancho 1" lift on my Jeep in 2007, it now sits a little low on the drivers side, I am going to look at that kit. Thanks for the information. Eaton Spring in Detroit would re- arch your springs while you watched, It was interesting to watch them set the main spring to the arch then beat the rest until they all laid together tightly, with no gaps, they would all have the same arch before they put the center bolt in them. It was something to watch them beat them on an anvil with a shim welded to it to set the arch.
