Got my eye on a Koenig King Winch, model 100. Looks to be a rear mount unit, though. Which might be okay but, I'm wondering, can a feller reverse the worm gear and shaft to allow it to become a normal, front mounted winch? Only issue that becomes obvious to me is that the locking pin on the other side would then be facing the grill instead of the bumper. Just wondering if it's even possible to switch the drive around or not.

It's all off a truck I believe as the PTO is a 40, for a truck. Might have been a bed mount unit but there's no sprocket gear with it.

Depends on if the gears they used were standard cut or reverse cut. The input can be reversed simple enough but iirc it will change whether the cable winds on top or bottom of the drum. I ran into this swapping around one from a Bronco to fit a Jeep one time.

Thanks Nick. I guess won't know anything for sure until it's in my possession......if it ends up here.
