I’m running vintage Eagle long tube headers with short turbo mufflers, but my exit is out back.

I admit I'm old and the noise of the mufflers under where I was sitting was really getting to me. On top of that I kept crushing the mufflers on rocks. I ended up running the exhaust all the way to the back with a single muffler. Much quieter now and I like it much better.

Did you have to keep the muffler under you in the "Crush Zone". My fuel tank seems to take up all that rear space.

I run both a rear tank and rear exit for the exhaust. The muffler is between the frame rails - but offset towards the driver side - and is in front of the tank. There is a frame cross member there at the front of the tank, and the rear of the muffler is just in front of that cross-member. The tailpipe then goes down along the driver side of the tank skid and up and over the axle and out the driver rear corner.

I'd like to see how you did this. I wanna keep my the fender well headers and flow masters exiting in front of the rear tires. I want to take the exhaust out the back to either quiet it down or, at least, move the noise away from me.
