Has anyone tried to repair a yoke seal surface? Make a repair sleeve?

I used speed sleeves on my transfer case. Haven't run it yet but it seems to be a common type of repair and trusted, experienced members here suggested them to me. I used Timken brand pieces if I recall.

I did a speedy sleeve on the crankshaft that goes throught the front seal. There was some permatex to apply on the shaft before putting the speedy sleeve. Not a single drop a oil since i did that.

The rear yoke on my Dana 300 has a Speedy Sleeve on it from NAPA. It probably been on for 20 years or better and has never leaked.

I've used CR and National sleeves for decades on all sorts of stuff. I don't recall a single failure. An economical/effective way to save yokes.

A good used yoke may be found cheaper than the sleeve.

If you opt for the sleeve, it was suggested to me to put red lok-tite on the old seal surface before putting the sleeve on. Helps keep it in place for good and perhaps helps to fill the groove.
