Hello everyone. I recently acquired a fairly unmolested 1 owner Ren 1 and I am going to take it back to stock. First question I have is, after much searching (I have been lurking reading everything I can on the Ren 1's) my Ren1 has a set of Selectro hubs (see pic). I know that these and a host of others were used either by the stealership or end user. Are these good, (they are not stamped with the heavy duty I see on others), and should I remove them and put on period correct Warn's. The PO passed away a year ago and all of the knowledge went with him as his family never paid attention. I am wanting to make sure that everything on this goes back to period correct.

Thank you in advance for any help that can be provided.

    Eric

Thank you. I know that they were not factory, but I am trying to see if a) these Selectro's which do not have "heavy duty" on them are good and b) if I should put in a set of Warn's. My 70 had Warn hubs, so I it was interesting to see the Selectro's on this one. I am thinking I should swap out for a period correct Warn hub setup regardless, unless you guys can convince me otherwise.

The Selectros are period correct and a good hub. The Warn hubs are also correct. take your pick.
Most of the dealer installed hubs were probably Warn.

Thank you Mike. Are you aware of any difference in the fact that mine does not say "heavy duty". Logic would say that there is obviously a difference between the two, but perhaps not as maybe it was just a natural progression?

The Selectros are actually a better hub internally then some of the Warn ones were.

Thank you for the answers. Very strange with as many of the Selectros out there that I have never seen one in all of my 40+ years of wheeling ;) oh well. Time to start researching the Selectro.

If you're that concerned put the stock drive flanges back on it and do away with the locking hubs.
They weren't factory and aren't correct for the restoration you're talking about performing.
