My top was sanded and painted this week. It was dissembled when I received it originally. Does anybody have a video link on how to put it all together?

What brand top do you have? Honestly, installing a hardtop is a pretty straight forward job.

Here’s a four page manual for the Meyer Delux top... Pretty straight forward to put together, but a 2-3 person lift to get it in place on the tub.

FWIW I assembled the hard top for my 1975 CJ-6 (in 1975) in my parent's driveway, by myself. I erected the sides and set the lid on top. I don't recall exactly how I did it ... I suspect I walked up into the Jeep with the lid above my head and shoulders. I had some experience assembling these tops at m job at the Jeep dealer. Alignment will probably be better if you assemble the sides to the lid first. I'd suggest a small block and tackle to lower the top onto your Jeep, from a garage ridge or build a gantry from 2x4s.

Thanks for all the help guys. The top is painted and looks great. Now I have to put it all together and get some new glass in a few places.

    Its a Kelly Top.

Timgr, I'll probably Install it in the fall and take it off during the spring for the rest of the summer. Keeping a bikini on standby. Thanks for the tip.

Chris Insull, that manual is a great find. Even though my top is a Kelly I'm sure its similar! Thanks

Had I kept the one I had, I would have built and installed a lift/ storage system in my shop. They take up too much floor space for my liking.

Thanks for the help guys. Know of anyone who makes replacement glass for the top? I checked with a local glass place but I may have to go elsewhere

I am surprised . that your local glass shop doesn't cut glass
I have had many pieces cut and installed over the years
some by me after glass was cut
as to getting it off and on . I built a roof rack

hanging in house garage ceiling . 10ft ceiling perfect for storage

Yeah, I'd try a different glass shop.

Plexiglass may be ok for you, but it has its issues. After a while, it won't be as transparent as glass. It's flexible, and the gasket was designed for a rigid material. Once installed, I'd expect you can push on the center and the window will bend enough to pop out of the gasket. I've seen this as an issue for race cars with plexi side windows. They have to be glued or screwed or otherwise secured in place, or they pop out. And it may not be street legal as automotive glazing.

Disclaimer... I only did one window. I think it was the other stuff (Lexan)? The rest of the glass was good.

I've used the same glass shop for my VW bus windshield and my Jeep's ventilating windshield. I'ts strange that your shop won't cut the glass.

Maybe it's a "distraction" from their normal routine? Not a money maker for them?

I asked for my half window a glass cut at the dimension, with round corners (securit glass): they did it but they charged me.
About the hard-top, I fixed a metal hook in the top the get it up in my barn (so I do it alone).
