I think a diesel Jeep would be great. Lots of people doing write ups about using a Kubota in their Jeep on the web.
Expensive swap, but would probably pay for itself in longevity and reliability.

    Home

They do the Kubota conversions and have the parts for that.

Have a friend who collects old Chevy Chevettes with the diesel engines and would put them in the M422 Mite jeeps.
Apparently the V4 in the Mite had chrome cylinder walls and it is an expensive rebuiild.

Have seen VW diesels in some M422 Mites on the web. Sounds like a great project.

Ya I have seen the Kubota ones but this mahindra motor is different from what I understand. If I could get rid of the computer crap n put an mechanical pump it it would be about perfect. Since there is a whole drive train thanks to roxor

The CR pump is a 3 bolt Bosch which is a very good sign for a VE pump swap. I plan on doing this to mine. Everything is still so new that many questions are still being answered. The more I learn about it, the more I'm becoming very smitten with this little engine. There are a few parts I need to get (CJ500D bell, 3-bolt VE pump, I have some B3.3T injectors) before I get a whole motor and fiddle. If I can get em, I may source a failed Willys Pickup project and start building.

The overland swaps are neat, and a solid choice if you can get a motor. I think eventually the MDI swaps will get quite popular if some specifics can be worked out.

Getting 30-35 MPG in a "Jeep" with a tractory engine is not overrated. Tuned my Roxor has roughly 90HP at around 3k RPMs. It weighs about 33% more than my '57 but has about 2x the power and torque in the same usable power band as an FHead. It really has the feel of just a much more powerful FHead. I like the low end grumpy tractory feel.

Same here on the tractor thing, I have always thought a lil diesel would be great in a Jeep. These roxor deals seem like a godsend for the Jeep community. My thing is I just don’t want computers in mine.

    What is a cj500d bellhousing?

A CJ500d is an Indian Jeep right up your alley lol

It's an extended 3B with a T90, Spicer 18 and an MDI motor (Same IH roots as the Roxor's M2DICR but still running the mechanical pump)
