I had posted pictures of the paint and body work previously, but sadly that was nearly a year ago! Key difference with the photo below is that as of last night, the backdrop is MY shop...that and it has a protective layer of dust. Now, just need the motor back from the machine shop. I've kept busy in the mean time though rebuilding the transmission, transfer case and overdrive in the 69 CJ5 in the background (as posted in the "What did you to to your Jeep today" thread).

Also, I am not big on naming vehicles, but I have decided to call this one Oliver. It is a derivation of "oil all over" since that is what started this whole thing, "I'll just replace a couple of gaskets/seals..."

Makes me nervous when you say this all started with fixing a few leaks by replacing a couple of gaskets/seals. My 68' has a small tranny leak, transfer case leak, and front diff leak. Hoping it doesn't turn into a full rebuild. Don't have the money for that haha. Nice looking rebuild though.

That Jeep was awesome before you started, can't wait to see how it is when done, it's awesome.

Thanks guys. Scope creep is a real thing!

Body and paint is not my favorite, so I had it done at a local body shop. The paint is a single stage acrylic enamel, no metallic. I really like how it turned out.

imo single stage is the best fit for a jeep, when it gets scratched it stays body color ,scratch clear it turns white.

Finally getting back on this one. Interesting how different the color looks depending on light and angle, they all match in real life. Stay tuned...
