Thinking out loud, is it possible to mate a Dana 18/20 to a tremec 5 speed? :ninja: Asking for a friend... :sneak:

I'd be suprised if anyone is casting an adapter for a D18/20. These transmissions have 3 shifter ports and internal rails. 5th gear is encclosed in the rear tailhousing, so this would be a complex adapter to make. Anything is possible, but a divorced transfer case would make a lot more sense if you had to use the Tremec 5-speed.
    I have a TKO 600 for my '66 Chevelle.

Is the tail housing similar to the gm 4500?

They make a Dana 300 to T5 adapter do not think there’s one for the 18 or 20.

I see they make a 4x4 version. I'm guessing its not much bigger than a T18 or sm465.

I was looking at these too. According to Wikipedia (take it with a gain of salt) the length of the 4x4 transmission is 19.5": Tremec TR-4050 transmission - Wikipedia

Here's one attached to a Ford Modular:

Looks like the size of a T-18 with and additional 6+ inch tail cone out the back. So the 19.5" is probably right. I would be great for a CJ6, but I'm guessing it won't fit in a CJ5.

Not sure where to get it, but I would guess is a few grand like the car 5 speeds.

I didn't know these things existed. With the price, it may as well not, at least for me. I couldn't justify the expense, but a neat option at least. The ratios seem like the best of both worlds.
