Turn Signal

    need opinion on if i should keep my amber turn signal or put these clear ones on. my jeep is a 66cj5 with a 59 body

    My late 65 registered 66 has the original amber lights.

    The amber plastic style were correct for apprx '63 - newer. The clear glass w/ chrome bezel were correct for the earlier Willys era.

    I'd go with the clear, presuming nothing has to be altered to fit, or new holes drilled.

    Plus the glass type might be easier to deal with for changing the bulb. The newer style has that oddball snap ring attachment.

    like the clear but cannot find the bulbs none of the flaps around here have them dose any one know the part number for the bulb

    1157 will not work on my clear ones the tabs are offset on mine the tabs are strait across

    how many contact points are in the inside bottom of the bulb holder?

    The straight across slots are for single element bulbs, those with marker lights but without turn signals. There should be a single pigtail wire out of that light.

    There were 6v dual contact bulbs with aligned pins (1130?). I hink a 1176 would be the 12 volt replacement. If not available in amber a little Testers transparent amber paint will cure that.
