Got a exhaust system from Waldron Exhaust. I have a 69-70 CJ5 w/ V-6. Installed the Y pipe and there was about a 1/4 space between the pipe and the drive shaft. I am talking/emailing Waldron about the issue. They are giving me instruction on where to take measurements. There are individuals on here that got there exhaust system and installed it. From what I remember reading, there was no issues with the exhaust system.

    A few questions
Has anyone had a problem with the exhaust system, the spacing between the Y pipe and drive shaft?

I put a 2.5 inch lift on the Jeep, would this move the drive shaft and exhaust pipe closer together?

The heat riser goes on the driver side? Yes--No

I did not install the heat riser, would that matter?

Can someone measure the space between the drive shaft and exhaust pipe.

If your talking 225V6 then the heat riser goes on the pass side.

Been emailing measurements and pictures of the Y pipe to Waldron. They say the Y pipe I have, was built to OEM specs. I have the option to return the Y pipe or they will make a extension piece. I will have to cut the extension piece to the length I want, and weld it in. Not to thrilled about welding on a new exhaust system. I am thinking the 2.5 in lift is the problem.

My lift was in the way with stock ypipe. I had someone make one for me to fit. Not happy with his hack job, but at least it works for now

Here is the piece of pipe that they gave me to add to the Y pipe on the passenger side. Welded it in and the Y pipe does not hit the front drive shaft when the Jeep is articulated
