I tore a Koenig Model 51 PTO apart and removed the bearings and seal. Cleaned up the shafts, chain sprockets on a brass wire wheel. Now to clean the case in the solvent take before re-assembly.

I am collecting parts to add an underseat tank to my 71, a future project anyway. How much do you want for the one you have? Got a picture?

    Thanks!

I'm looking for it. If I find it it's yours for the price of shipping.

Added a shovel mount to my spare tire carrier. Got Jealous of Scott's. (@Buildflycrash ) So i hacked up an old shovel, put a D-handle on it. Then I did some research on off-road shovel mounts and didn't like any of them. I searched on Amazon for pipe clamps and found these:

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08YJRL7QS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I whittle out a plate and de-burred it and de-scaled it.

Put the contraption on the tire carrier right in front of the tire. Yes the shovel will clear the soft top. I will only have the shovel mounted when I am boon-docking, it would get stolen in a heart beat around here.

Fiddled around trying to plumb in the steering.

put fenders on, had a cocktail (Pelegríno blood orange, bitters, legend bourbon and ice).

    rolled Jeep back in garage.

What is involved exactly in "breaking in a new cam"? In other words how are you doing it?

I have a full set of matching wheels for the 3b now. The tires are like new too, but they're 31's.

I was going to do this tomorrow but idle hands and all...
.....I can occasionally make an effort to make something look decent.

I cleaned the ones that I aim to use. I didn't use any polish, yet. Just steel wool, soap, and a Scotch-Brite pad. If you look closely one of them is not like the others.
There's a guy who has a good set of 37" MTR's for cheap. Wonder if they'll fit.:D

I'm gonna drink a beer, sorry about the novel.
My carb issues were becoming legendary. A 4 barrel is useless on a 5:38/ T18 equipped 231 v6. Also I was fighting vapor lock issues with the aluminum intake. Off it came for the iron stocker. I rebuilt the original 2GC but it never quite behaved right. Eventually I chalked it up to worn throttle shaft bores. I purchased a reman ( Uremco) from Summit. For $187 I could throw it away...I should have as soon as it arrived.
It was rich right out of the box, terribly so. Futzing with the idle screws made little change and my vacuum gauge was all over the place. It didn't do this with the Holley so I was pretty certain the engine innards were ok. I pulled the top and found #60 jets, real fat should be around 52. So I changed them. Nada same thing. Still I went to PA with Wheelie, lots of extra timing dialed in, kinda sorta was ok but would struggle on grades and fuel economy was in the toilet ( if that's such a thing in a CJ) and ran hot.
Yesterday changed distributor ( was worn) cap, rotor, wires. Nope. Today pulled that pos carb and here's your rant. On disassembly the bowl is notably dirty ( there's 3 filters on this thing, it didn't come out of my system) the clip from the needle valve to float is awol. Here's the o_O that's not supposed to be there..

That is the aluminum ball that should be in the accelerator pump well. One guess what's in the well...the steel one that should be in the main discharge.
I have enough disassembled carbs I had a spare aluminum one. So I completely disassemble the carb. Get the offending ball out, completely clean it and reassemble it properly. Fire it up.
It's ok, not great, not so rich. I balance it with the vacuum gauge and check the timing. Road test just ok better but still hesitates and falls on grade. I've had a nag that there were 2 things wrong. Feeling confident about fuel I pondered the ignition. But with all that new crap what could be going on? Only thing left, plugs. Well here's a first for me, look what came out of the #5 hole..

Guess what lights the tires, storms up the hills in 4th and runs like a scalded dog now?
Cripes my liver can't take anymore. At least now I can get back to regularly scheduled programming of Colorado prep...
    Thanks for listening
