I like the idea of a radio and integrated speakers.

Here is a short video of this radio. The sound is clear even up high. I have the Jeep idling in this video with a few revs. I’m excited to hear how it sounds with wind engine, and road noise. Still need to figure out my presets but I will probably use the Bluetooth more than FM anyway. I don’t know how high the sound goes but I didn’t have it up the whole way.

Put a new main bearing in the 10si alternator. A guy in the Home Depot parking lot heard the noise and asked me if my jeep was turbocharged. I think he was joking. It was a bit noisey.

Love to check this thread to keep me motivated. Got another tool box, cleaning up the garage, getting my parents stuff out of the way,
moved some stuff off the painted frame. Got to get back at those Jeeps. Floor boards in the CJ5 body on the rotisserie, patch panels on M38A1.
We inherited a lot of stuff when my dad died, now getting it out of the way to get back to work.

    Thanks for the encouragement.

Going to have to get some Jeep friends together for a wrenching weekend.
Arthritis in my back and shoulders is really slowing me down, but seeing these posts, help to keep me motivated.
At least I can now see the nicely painted frame now.

Repaired a stripped acellerator pump screw hole, preemptively fixed the other three. Then had some chicken pie and corn.

Installed a new to me real gas tank. Thanks to another forum member. Glad to get rid of the 5 gallon plastic gas can held in by a bungee cord. Totally safe.

    Thanks again OTJ

    Reassembled my refurbished headlight buckets.
    1556843511020-108949145.jpg

I also polished and mic'ed two 304 cranks. One was very nice, one probably need the mains ground under. Met dimensional limits but three journals had a little more scoring than I would want. I only need one, the other will be sold. Rod journals were nice on both. In spec, no more than 0.0002" variation between vertical and horizontal measurements. Yes, I realize calling tenths with vernier mics (not calipers) is questionable but it was repeatable enough. Wouldnt pass a gauge R&R study, and if you know what that means then youre a nerd too.

Also degreased and washed off my oil pan. I'll derust myself. Local shop will hot tank, but then media blast. Looks nice but I'm not into media blasting a pan with welded baffles. Cant clean what you cant reach or see.

2E505A71-0463-47DF-9149-EDD69BACFF73.jpeg Got this cut out stained and 4 coats of poly on it. This will go directly onto the original metal dash to provide support as well as ground for gauges.

it is. Do you see an issue? It will basically lay over the original dash, all switches and gauges will still contact the dash on the back as they always have done. I also plan to run a braided ground wire to the dash for a good ground rather than try to rely on just dash to A pillar contact.

Ah! I thought you were stiffening by placing it in backside of dash. You're good.

Had a very productive day! Cut down 3 trees, cleaned up several already fallen trees, and used the Jeep to tote everyone’s gear. The Jeep is way cooler than a Gator to haul everything around, although I am a little biased. Gators do have dump beds and stuff
