Putting my 75 back together and was looking at my pretty ugly green vapor line. I am not sure if it is serviceable but I would have to clean it up in order to tell. Is there a reason for the nylon? Is it even available? Is there any reason I can't just run steel lines?

I just recently replaced my green nylon lines with steel. I know it’s important that the line are positioned so that any liquid fuel that enters the lines flows back into the tank but why green nylon as opposed to steel is a good question.

It's what they used. Should be fine if not too brittle. Very low pressure in the vapor system. IIRC Ford uses nylon for their EFI-equipped cars. Not uncommon.
