Wiring Auxiliary Light?

I am going to install a 35 watt white light on the rear bumper of my 67 CJ5. I will control with a simple toggle switch on the dash. Can I wire directly from the ignition or should I go through a relay?

 

Just a little less than 3 amp so a relay is not necessary but if you are wanting that light to be on without the jeep running then you could pull the power from the hot wire going to the head light switch.

I'm totally infatuated with Pollack 75 amp Push Pull SPST switches. I'll have 6 of them in my Willys build when completed. They handle so much juice a Relay isn't needed for much of anything. Course I will still use a relay in any circuit that they would normally be appropriate. I found Black Phenolic Knobs that with just a little bit of lathe work rounding the edges look just like original Willys switch knobs and with a little creative work I have them adapted to the Pollack Switches. I also found a place in Portland OR that does a lot of Firearms Serial number engravings for guys building their own AR's and they can match the Willys Knob Font. SO when the Project is all done that's going to be one of the things I do is have them engrave the purpose of each switch on the knob rub some White Lacquer stick in the engraving and have stock looking switch knobs.
