I notice that those export CJ6's have flat topped rear fender cutouts. I saw this in Uruguay also when I was in Montevideo in 1998. Also noticed that this one appears to have a D30 rear.

What year manufacture is your Jeep? Is the AMC 20 original to that Jeep and did it come with those flanged axles or are they aftermarket?

    Nice looking CJ6
I painted my top after the first year baking in the sun. With the white top you can hold your hand
on the inside of the top and it almost feels cool.
Here are some before and after pistures.

    new mexico air,
Love the yellow CJ-6. That thing most MOVE with the Buiick 350 in it. I had a 64 CJ-6 with a Chevy 283 w 4 barrel, headers and Chevy ()1.94 intake) power pack heads. It used get up and go. Amazing the T-90 held up. Eventurally replaced it with a Saginaw 4 speed. Biggest mistake I ever made was selling that Jeep so I could buy a 76 CJ-5 (lemon, geared up to high).

aallison 74 cj6, 76 cj5. Has anyone seen my screwdriver?

Wuze - Thanks. You answered one of my questions I've always had. The exported 6's had the windshield hinge of the newer CJ's. If you could answer another question, does it still have a ladder frame or does it flair out near the seats like the 76 and on 5's and 7's do?

I've always wondered if they incorporated the "upgrades" in the 6's from 76 and later like they did the 5's and 7's.

    Gerald's probably off working...

AFAIK the export CJ-6s are simply stretched CJ-5s of the same vintage... flared and boxed frame, Corporate 20, T-150, new windshield etc.
