I was tryin to figure out how many jeeps were produced in the first week of 55 cj5 production? There were @17000 regular units produced that year according to the interweb. Anyone have any idea how many were produced the first week? My serial number is 311 and wondering if its in the first week. Thanks.

17000/365*7=326. So it's very likely. Usually production is heavily front loaded in the year, so there are plenty of units to go out to the dealers. So even more likely.

Just out of curiosity what colour was yours originally? Tonk was #378, he & all the other low s/n units I'm aware of were greenish- blue.

    Yup, that's the colour :)

Are your floor pans the same colour or are they black?

Here's some pics of s/n 184 which was on ebay a few years back. Supposedly the original paint (garage keptA) except for one back corner.

Nice photo of number 184. It has the same white covers on the tailgate chains and white seats. Mine appears to be mostly original paint that the previous owner "touched up" here and there.

That looks like a PTO winch. The story I got was mine had a PTO winch that didn't work that well so the previous owner took it off and put on an electric warn. I asked if he still had the winch and was told it was sold. My Jeep sat for 2-3 years in a garage after the PO passed away.

Howard do you know out of curiosity what that jeep sold for on ebay?

I was hoping my had more value because of the low production and originality of it. I was going to sell it a while back but was able to weather the financial storm that was forcing the sale, thankfully.

My jeep has a set of stewart warner gauges installed. I had to update the turn signal switch but the original one is in this picture

    It didn't sell

I remember the asking price as being $6000.

I later told member CJ about it (he has, or until recently had, "Grumpy", s/n 1038- factory green paint, black floor pans), he kicked himself for missing it.
